About this game

ASCII-driven Sci-Fi RPG GRIST is a table-top inspired party roguelite and card battler. Delve into the tiered lands of the mysterious Shell-World Atropos, exploring it's cities, forests, oceans, and more. Fight against the nightmare plague that threatens the trillions of lives of Atropos, and search for its source in the heart of the planet.

GRIST draws on a heritage of table-top RPGs, gamebooks, and classic CRPGs from the 1980s, resynthesizing them into a glowing terminal-wave aesthetic with driving basslines, exploding ASCII particles, and a healthy dose of existential horror.

• Build your Order Deck by choosing who goes in your party, and what equipment they have.

• Take advantage of positioning in combat to avoid attacks, gain buffs, and out-manouever your enemy.

• Equip powerful items that can change how orders play and interact.

• Plot map routes to maximize levelling, locate advanced weaponry, or undertake sidequests that unlock new items and classes.

• Acquire permanent upgrades that improve your team's survivability and unlock build-defining abilities.

• Each boss is a puzzle: find the combinations of Orders, Items, and Equipment that turn a 10-foot slavering nightmare into an obediant puppy.
