High tension bullet curtain action!!

TOUHOU GAIDEN is a 2D action platformer heavily inspired by the aesthetics and gameplay of classic NES games, while adding to the mix the beautiful and overwhelming danmaku that Touhou Project is known for in high octane boss fights.

STORY

The delicate balance that protects Gensokyo is as follows: humans fear youkai, youkai feed on that fear, and the current Hakurei shrine maiden keeps both sides in check.

As the millennium draws to a close, unprovoked youkai attacks suddenly grow more frequent and vicious, and humans begin to lose faith, retaliating in kind.

It falls to Reimu, the young shrine maiden aided by a mysterious new benefactor, and Youmu, a sword master sent by the Yama, to root out the causes and end this conflict before Gensokyo drives itself to extinction.
